Another round of betas for dot-five. Also, Apple quarterly reports and very interesting and impactful court orders regarding Apple's App Stores, but if you are interested in those, you probably read about them elsewhere. š

Apple in the Enterprise: A 2025 report card
Just as in the past two years, Appleās strongest scores came in hardware and in the companyās commitment to security and privacy. But as hardware scores continue to soar, Appleās performance on the software side has dropped precipitously.
I have to admit that I misjudged the trends when I wrote my rant last week. Thanks to Jason Snell and everybody involved in putting this together. I really appreciate the curated shorter comment sections.
Jason Snell and Weldon Dodd also joined Tom and Marcus on the Mac Admins Podcast to discuss the report card.

Why TidBITS Will No Longer Post to X/Twitter or Facebook
In keeping with our desire to model the behavior we want to see in the world, we have stopped posting TidBITS to X/Twitter and Facebook
I left behind X/Twitter and Facebook a while ago and encourage others to do so, as well. The Mac Admins Slack provides a wonderful forum for Apple IT related discussions.. There are rich and far less toxic communities on Mastodon/Fediverse and Bluesky.
You can follow me on Mastodon and Bluesky. I also have starter packs for interesting MacAdmins accounts for both Mastodon/Fediverse and Bluesky. You can also use RSS or Feed Readers (e.g. NetNewsWire) to subscribe to the RSS Feeds of MacAdmins.news and scriptingosx.com
So...I decided to make a blog
this blog will be focused on Apple and Jamf and my background has been in the Education sphere
Really excited about Ant's new blog because he is a wonderful person, esteemed and competent co-worker and there are very few Apple Admin blogs for the education space.
